Character homes rezoned under Coorparoo neighbourhood plan
Nearly 6000 properties around Coorparoo have been rezoned to character residential under Brisbane City Council’s latest neighbourhood plan.
The rezoning means more properties will be protected to retain the typical Queensland house from being demolished or altered significantly.
The neighbourhood plan for Coorparoo also covers Greenslopes, Camp Hill, Holland Park and Holland Park West and was approved by the council at Tuesday’s council meeting.
City planning committee chairman Matthew Bourke said the plan would improve protections for the region’s traditional character streetscapes and confine redevelopment to centres along the Logan Road corridor, Greenslopes Private Hospital and the busway station
