Brisbane's New Farm Deli gutted in overnight fire

New Farm Deli in the heart of Brisbane has been gutted by fire overnight.

Police have declared the area a crime scene and warned locals to stay away from the shopping complex if possible on Saturday because there were lingering "toxic fumes" from the fire.

Emergency services were called to the business on Merthyr Road about 12.20am on Saturday and found the fire was mainly in the building's roof.
